Grace Woodlands Family,

My approach to leading over the years has been pretty simple. Becky and I do our best to discern the story God is writing and then step into His story, trusting Him by faith to open every door ad provide what is needed. Our experience is that His story was always far larger than the one we would have written for ourselves. To lead God’s people into His story has been the greatest privilege of our lives. The stories of God’s transforming power continue to amaze us.

This current season at Grace Woodlands is the most exciting we have ever had. While we have done our best to step into God’s story, doing so has always involved people who were willing to take that step with us. How grateful we are for all of you who have done that in this unlikely time as God began a powerful new chapter for Grace Woodlands right in the beginning of Covid. I would have never picked that time on my own, but I have learned over the years that God’s timing is generally never mine. And He always seems to add a little of the impossible to His story…… so much so that you know you could never do this by yourself.

In Covid as I sought the direction of the Lord, He said to me, “Call the people together to pray for twelve nights before Pentecost, and then make preparation for what I am going to do.” I know that voice. I have heard it in every step of faith I have ever taken in the last five decades. How all of you who were a part of Grace at that time responded to those twelve nights was amazing to me. That alone confirmed to me that God was up to something beyond my expectations.

The two years and four months since then has been a season of God “breaking out” in a powerful way. The fruit of this season of “His presence and glory” is all around us. Even though we have expanded the current building to its maximum, it is now too small as we see God continue to expand in every area. I wondered how long this season would last, and as this summer was winding down that became the major focus of my personal time with the Lord. I could feel that things were beginning to change, and I wanted to know where God was going. In that time I heard Him respond to my inquiries with “I have been adding, now I am going to multiply.” I knew that our assignment was to prepare for what that would mean.

Since that moment God has begun giving me insight and opening doors for what will be a number of national initiatives to plant churches and assemble like-minded pastoral leaders who will faithfully stand in this evil day. This is beyond our Texas directive to increase Grace International by fifty churches here. One pastor of a significant church here in Texas joined us this year and another is in the process of joining. We are moving forward with several potential church plants in our state.

We are preparing for existing ministries at Grace Woodlands to multiply in size and scope and many new ministries to begin as we serve those the Lord is bringing our way in increasing numbers. We are making room for many more on our campus as we greatly increase our parking and are ready to move forward in constructing a new worship center. None of this would have been possible or will be possible as we embrace our future of continuing to step into the story God is writing without people like you. By your praying, serving and giving, you birth everything of God’s intent. For that, Becky and I are extremely grateful.

We are fast approaching the end of the year, and year-end giving is very important to have the resources to provide for the various kingdom advances that are underway and for those we need to begin. I don’t mention giving very much because I believe people who are growing in their faith and relationship with the Lord have an open heart and hand in investing their resources in God’s kingdom. It is the only enduring investment there is. Every “WIN” in the advance of God’s kingdom has eternal ramifications. Thank you for expressing the heart of God with your extravagant generosity in giving to make every ministry at Grace possible. Becky and I are so proud of all of you. What an exciting season to be involved in the story God is writing here at Grace. Thank you for stepping into this amazing “God” story.

Please, prayerfully, make the most generous year-end gift that you can. There are a number of ways to give. Please take a moment to consider the following…
