This seminar will systematically study foundational Christian beliefs in order to understand our faith. We will be examining four primary doctrines: Doctrine of God, Doctrine of Jesus Christ, Doctrine of Holy Spirit, and Doctrine of Trinity. We will be talking about the characteristics of God, the divinity and humanity of Jesus, and more. Come and be blessed!

ABOUT DR. SAM THOMAS
Sam Thomas is one of the teaching pastors at Grace Woodlands. He holds a B. Sc. (Bachelor of Science) degree in Chemistry from University of Pune, India. He also has obtained theological degrees in India: B. D. (Bachelor of Divinity) and M.Th (Master of Theology) from the Senate of Serampore College (University). His PhD is from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana. 

Sam has taught at New Theological College - a premier theological institution in North India - from 2009 to 2015. He has also served as an Assistant Pastor at two churches in India.

Sam and his wife Sheeba have been blessed with two boys: Stephen and Timothy.

Anthem Missions Adventure (6th-8th Graders)

This is the 2025 Student Application for Missions Adventure!

Who? Current 6th-8th graders   
When? March 13th-15th
Where? The Woodlands, Conroe, Dickinson, Galveston

What?The Anthem Missions Adventure Team will be serving The Woodlands and other communities through various projects and outreaches. We will be partnering with nearby food banks to help prepare and distribute groceries to those in need and local nonprofits to practically serve the city. The team will also spend time evangelizing, growing in relationship with each other and receiving educational training on the heart and how of missions.

Why? Our goal is to train and equip your teens to be bold for Jesus in every area of their life and we believe the local missions field is the perfect place to train them up! We created Missions Adventure so 6-8th grade students can experience service and evangelism in a safe and encouraging environment and to lay a proper foundation that missions start right where you are! 

Application and RequirementsApplications are accepted until November 13th. The requirements for this trip are put in place to spiritually and practically protect your student and the health of this trip. Please note that you are not promised a spot on the missions team. You will receive an email determining if you have made it onto the 2025 missions team.

Requirements:

  • 2024-2025 6th Graders - 8th Graders
  • Must Currently attend Anthem Youth. 
  • Must be actively pursuing and growing in their personal relationship with Jesus. 
  • Must demonstrate Godly character inside and outside of the church walls. 
  • Must commit to and engage in the monthly missions meetings.
  • Must meet the financial deadlines.
  • Must be willing to adhere to the commitments that are listed on the application.
  • Must attend 75% of missions team trainings and gatherings. 

Costs/Deadlines: Each participant is responsible for the $350 total trip cost. This includes both flights, on-ground transportation, housing, food, and the sponsored projects. Each participant is required to obtain at least $100 in personal earnings toward his or her account. The remaining balance of $250 can be earned by outside sponsorships, group fundraisers, or by paying the balance directly. Each participant’s balance will be kept track of and a statement will be sent out periodically. If you have not reached the requirements of each fundraising deadline you will be notified of the remaining balance. All Funds will be tracked and displayed through “Managed Missions”.  Please note that if you do not meet the financial deadlines, you will not be able to attend the missions trip.

Don't let the total of the trip keep you from saying yes to God's calling! We are going to work as a team to fundraise.

Important Dates: If you make the team: please make it a priority to attend all meetings/ team building nights. These trainings are planned speicfically for team bonding, student developments, and to help with fundraising ideas.

Sunday, November 17th @ 6:30 pm-8 pm-   Meet the Team: this will be the night where we meet the team, send out letters, go over communications, and fundraising ideas

January 12th @1 pm- 2 pm- Team Training

January 19th - 50% deadline

March 2nd- 100% deadline

March 2nd @ 6:30 pm - Team Meeting: Commissioning Night 

March 12th- Church Commissioning Night: the team will go into main service and the church will pray over the team.

March 13- 15th- Missions Adventure
