DEEP DIVE INTO GOD’S WORD BIBLE STUDY
Have you opened the Bible to read it and found it overwhelming? No worries, most people find it so. The Sunday-morning INTRODUCTION TO THE BIBLE class seeks to address this problem! Introduction to the Bible is an introductory level course to understanding the most important and influential book of all times – the Bible. This class would help both: those that are new to the Bible (have no background in the Bible), and those that have some knowledge about the Bible. We would be exploring major themes and concepts of the Bible: for example, the character of God, the revelation of Christ, the response of the people of God to God, and so on. The key to understanding the Old Testament is the history of Israel – so the study of the OT is divided historically: pre-monarchial period; the times of the kings; the exile; and the post-exilic period. The study of the New Testament centers around Christ: the earthly life of Christ in the Gospels; the beginnings of the Church in Acts; the growth, development, and challenges of the church of Christ in the rest of the New Testament. The goals for this class are at least threefold: to provide an overview of the contents of the Bible; to provide Christians a strong foundation to read and understand the Bible; and to create a love for the Bible and the God of the Bible. Apostle Paul is one of the greatest of Christians of all times. He definitely is the most influential of all Christians. He is the author of almost half of the books of the New Testament. Millions of people have read his writings over the centuries. Hundreds, even thousands, of commentaries have been written on his life and writings. Hundreds of thousands of sermons have been preached based on his letters. Several PhD dissertations are written on Paul every year. His pre-Christian life was very antagonistic to Christ; his encounter with Christ on the road to Damascus and subsequent conversion was miraculous; his life as a Christian was selfless, productive and strategic.

Anthem Youth Family Connect will be a time for youth leaders, parents, and students to get to know one another while participating in games and community time. We will have a short time of encouragement and prayer. We will also have some giveaways for your family!
